My little turkey!

Img_0408So tomorrow Will is five years old. Crazy how fast it happens. I did not want him to feel like his birthday was lost by the great turkey feast so we decided to celebrate it last Friday. He invited a friend from school over to play and we where going to have all his favorite food for dinner. I say where because accidents happen. Let me first say that his birthday party was canceled at the last minute last year because Daley got the stomach flu. Nathan would call it the north virus. Well this year she stepped it up a notch. Just before my family arrived for dinner. Daley hit her head on the media niche resulting in this...  Yep our first one to get stitches!!!Img_0419
My family celebrated without us. More details on the stitches story another time. For now I just wanted to say I love my little man and I'm so thankful he is understanding about this stuff.

I had nothing to do with it...

Img_1598_2
I have great kids. Most of you will stop reading now because this is not a funny one. I just want to brag about how cool my kids are becoming and that I had little to do with it. Ok well if hours of praying counts I had a little something in it. Macey decided not to have a big birthday party this year (a first since her birth). She wanted to spend the day a Disneyland just her, her dad and me. FUN STUFF. We figured we should take advantage since soon she be asking us to drop her off at Ball Rd. so no one will know she is with us. Will was planning a big party at the gymnastics place. Let me tell you, they do a cool party, foam pit, trampoline, the works. We did it for his third birthday. Yesterday he decided he would rather hang out with mom and dad at Disneyland than have a party. CRAZY KID!!! Only while we were having this talk they ask if they can take each other on their special Disneyland day!!! I love my kids.

Eight years!!!

Ok so I keep getting asked to blog. However, it has been the last thing from my mind. Not that my children don't give me plenty to blog about. Macey will be 8 tomorrow. How did this happen? I'm certain that Bill and I slipped through some mandatory screening process. We are not qualified to have an 8 year old! She has once again asked for a plain cupcakes. The wrappers could not even say happy birthday. I did get away with polka dots.I got permission to add some sprinkles to the top. For her family birthday party she wants hamburgers, edemane, sourdough bread and for dessert... Big Stick Popsicles. She is so her dad!!!!!
Anyways, I'm having post event let down. Marriage getaway is done. Truly "fabulous" (that's for Colin). I told you about Macey's birthday. Will's is on Thanksgiving. Bill's is the 29th. We have Mission Inn run next Sunday. Then on to crazy December. Ah... maybe life will slow down in January.....NOT!

Hair makes it not ok?

So Will went to Oak Glen for a field trip. The next day he got caramel apples. I was unaware of the apples in his backpack. On the way to soccer Will decided to have a little "snack". When we get there he has a huge blob of caramel on his shorts. He say its ok because he is going to get dirty at practice anyway.  Ok Ok I let it go. Except that during practice I see him scraping something off his shorts and then EATING it!!! Gross. Myself and the other moms watching. Yes, other knew of my bad parenting, just laughed. When we got in the car I said, "Hey Will, maybe next time you have food on your clothes don't scrape it off and eat it."Img_1529
To which he said "Why? I was hungry?"  I said, "It's really gross." Will responds, "No it isn't. It not like it had hair on it."  EWWWW That is my four year old standard of nutrition. Just no hair!!!!! Let us review the vegan post......

Words probably not heard in a vegan house.....

Dinner: Chicken Noodle soup....
Will: Dad how do they make noodles?
Dad: With eggs, water, flour, and some other stuff. Maybe we will make them sometime so you can see.
Macey: How do the make meat?
Dad: Meat comes from animals.
Macey: Oh yeah chicken comes from chickens. How do they get the chicken out of the chicken.
Dad: (slight pause) The chicken is the chicken. We eat dead animals.
Macey: Oh.
Will: (making a stirring gesture like you would mix a pot) How do they make the chicken in to the chicken what we eat?

Dinner tonight? Vegetable soup!!!

My hilarious son

Most of you know Will has terrible allergies. He has been doing so well. However, this crazy 5000 degrees, poor rain, 3000 degrees weather has the allergies going a little crazy. So runny nose, puffy eyes, and cold sores should set the mood.
Will's teacher: Will, do you have a cold?
Will: No, I just have a problem with boogers.
Will's teacher: (slightly laughing) Oh, I don't like it when i have a booger problem.
Will: Oh,Booger
I take medicine in the morning and at night. You should try it. It's called Booger Nose Medicine.

Go ahead ask your pharmacist for some today!

It was bound to happen!

So, I have not blogged in, when what seems like forever. That is not to say that with three kids and my crazy husband there has not been anything to write about. Really there is just so many crazy things going on I'm not sure where to begin! Anyways, I'm sick. I have been fighting, denying, ducking, well you get the picture. My head feels like little bombs are going off and that's when the kids are not yelling "Can I have a snack?" or "She hit me." Or my personal favorite, "The dog won't stop biting my butt!" Anyway, now that I am not getting off the couch... I blog! I'm sure that I lost all three of my readers, but this is just in case you all still have me on your RSS. Gotta go find an unused tissue.....Sick

Vacation 07

We had a great time on vacation this year. Nine days in a motor home and we all still love each other!!! Four days in Yosemite and then 5 days in Twin Lakes (just above June Lake). Macey mastered the bike with no training wheels. Some of you know this was a real challenge for her. Yahoo!! Here are some pics. And there is a new album with the weeks highlights!Img_1898

Wicked

WickedWe saw Wicked on Sunday. I have never been to a "grown-up" play before. I mean we've seen Dora, Sesame Street, and a few others. Let me just say is was awesome! Elphiba's voice is incredible. It was great to kinda of know the story line from The Wizard of Oz. Yet, this was like the untold, behind the scene, rest of the story. I would see it again and again. So entertaining!

Lazy Days of Summer

So here I am... looking at a ton of laundry, dishes, and toys all longing to be put away. Yet, here I am relaxing and blogging. Aw... I love summertime. Anyone else loving the fact the clock has slowed down???? Or is yours still racing aheaHammockd?

Dr. Pepper everywhere

So here is the scene.... I pull into the driveway talking on my cell phone to my new friend Amy. I had just spent the day shopping at Sam's club , Costco, Winco and any other place that has food and ends in co. I unbuckled my troops and open up the hatch back. The 24 pack of Dr. Pepper rolls out. The box busts open and cans fly everywhere. I tell Amy I have to go. I start chasing cans in the street during rush hour. Will's teacher drives by and honks. Will is on the grass trying to catch the fountains of sugary goodness in his mouth. Most of it was just in his hair. Just as I get the last of it cleaned up. Bill pulls in. Seriously, where are the hidden cameras? You just have to laugh!!!

Bill moved

Bill has left typepad. Some of you have asked . He is now at www.deanzadesign.info Enjoy!

More deep thoughts

Ok so I like being a mile wide. I love going to the grocery store and seeing random people I know. I love going in church and seeing so many familiar faces. I just don't want to be surface with everyone. I just would love to have some deeper relationships right now.

Monday, June 11, 2007

Here I am again....

I found this post I did in October. Funny I find myself feeling the same exact way today. In relationships that are and inch deep and a mile wide (expression borrowed from Tammy). Old habits are hard to break. I pray that this October I will feel like I have moved past this season of my life. By the way I have no idea why this is all in bold type.

Spent

Tonight
as I sit down to read others blogs, I'm drained. I feel empty as though
I have poured out all that I have. Don't get me wrong I love spending
time with my family and friends. Anyone who somewhat knows me knows
that I am an extrovert. Strangely and conveniently I married an
introvert. I have never really understood the desire to get away by
myself to be energized. However, tonight that is what I am craving. No
more appointments, no more parties, no more meetings... Nah, that is
who I am. The minute they all ended I would make up a reason to have a
party. Lets see anyone available for a Groundhogs Day party? Just
kidding. I really feel like I have been so consumed by "groups" of
people and I'd love some one on one time. Another feeling that is new
to me.  I have always found safety in numbers. You don't have to be
deep or real in a group. As of the last few years I have learned that
it is a nice thing for a few people to know you well. Also, I  have
learned that when I have not taken time out of this maddening schedule
to have some serious one on one time with the Lord I remained drained.
So hear I am drained and spent and now that I have shared with all of
you that I know what to do to make it better...here I am... looking
into all of your lives via the blog.

We have had him since Macey was two, hence the name.   The Tortoise  and the Hare was her favorite book and so it is all she asked for on Christmas.                                                             Img_1889                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            And now meet Truman. My great guy...

Today was what I like to refer to a sitcom day. Life with three kids should be a sitcom. Well, now we are three kids and a puppy, more about that later. Anyway, Friday Bill surprised me with a little getaway to....HAWAII! Yes, next Thursday we will be flying away from my sitcom and enjoying time together, just the two of us. Other than marriage getaway, we have not gone away together since Will was 8 months old. He is almost 4 and a half!! I love him and the way he loves me!!!!!

Holding back

Do you ever get the feeling that if you are too real and open on here that people will think there is something wrong with you? Like there is something lost in the typing that you can't see. When you tell someone something face to face you can read their tone and redirect the point if needed. Or then there is the fear you could open up and put it all out there looking for hope and encouragement only to find that after one week your comments are zero and stats are 2 and worse yet those where google searches that pulled up your picture titles. To blog or not to blog that is my question.....

Prayer

On the trend of Snap, I offer another prayer suggestion. Right now, our pastors wives or on a getaway. Pray that they feel loved and treasured by our church. That they know we appreciate the support they have given allowing their husbands to leaders here at Sandals. Also, that they are bonded together as a support group and as friends since they deal with  things that are unique to being a pastors wife.  Just a thought.

tobacco-chewing, brassy-haired Barbie has a pair of her own high-heeled
sandals with one broken heel from the time she chased beer-gutted Ken
out of Fontucky Barbie's house. Her ensemble includes low-rise
acid-washed jeans, fake fingernails, and a see-through halter-top. Also
available with a mobile home.

"Claremont Barbie"
This
doll is made of actual tofu. She has long straight brown hair,
arch-less feet, hairy armpits, no makeup and Birkenstocks with white
socks. She prefers that you call her Willow. She does not want or need
a Ken doll, but if you purchase two Barbies and the optional Subaru
wagon, you get a rainbow flag bumper sticker for free. These barbies
love to hang out with included protest banners on Arrow and Indian
Hill.

"San Bernardino Barbie"
This
Barbie now comes with a stroller and infant doll. Optional accessories
include a GED and bus pass. Gangsta Ken and his 1979 Caddy were
available, but are now very difficult to find since the addition of the
infant.

Terrible Two??

Img_0784Ok so Daley is two now. Most of you know that the first year of Daley's life she was a breeze. She was the easiest baby ever. After her first birthday she got a little more spicy. Now that she is two... hold on to your hats!!! She had her worst day ever today, and it is only 9:30 am!!!! She ran around the donut shop. Screamed that she could not open and close the juice door. Fussed when I asked her set down. Then, we took Will to school. All was better until it was time to go. Basically, it was me carrying her under my arm, shoes flying off, screaming all the way home, radio blaring to drown out the sound. And now she sits in her crib screaming some more while I vent. So there you have it. She is super cute and super feisty. Hope you never see that side of her.

Three times a charm

So here I am again. For the third time in my life I must cheer and shout. Dance and parade. High five and pass out treats. OImg_0288ver what you ask? Going to the bathroom. That's right people. My little Daley has decided she wants to be like Macey and Will, wear underwear, and use the toilet. In our old house most of it was wood floors. Sadly, I worry for my new carpet. This is why I don't want a puppy. If I decided to have a fourth child, (oh my, did I say that out loud, someone slap me!!) I think I would just get a puppy instead. That way if it doesn't work out you can put them outside. All joking aside. She is getting to be a big girl.:( So with that said ...
here we go again.

Update 2

Img_0059
Yippee!! The angiogram is over and at this time they do not see the need for an angioplasty! The doctors said that the bypass is still working well and feeding the main area of the heart as well as others.  She will be back in Kaiser Riverside tonight and home soon I hope! Thanks for all your prayers and support. I'll try to be a better blogger from now on
and not only blog in my time of need.

Update 1

Img_0457
Right now my mom is in Fontana having her angiogram. The waiting is the hard part. Nothing to do. Those of you who know me know that I don't do well when I am not busy doing something. I don't feel like waiting is something. God always puts me in situations to make me more of a Mary than a Martha. I will update again when I get the call. Either she goes to St. Bernadine in San Bernardino for the angioplasty or she comes back to Riverside and gets to come home soon. There is a remote third option and that is she could go the Kaiser Sunset in Hollywood for another bypass. The doctors did not feel that that was a likely option, but still it is an option. We are all doing well. Just very tired. I just want her home and healthy again. Thanks for the prayers. We feel your love. For those of you who have called I will try to get back to you soon. Thanks for leaving the messages.

In need of prayer

I know I have not posted lately...sorry life gets in the way sometimes. However, as I sit here praying for my mom I wished others were too. My mom has not been feeling well, flu like stuff. She went to the doctor SImg_0701_1at. at 3:00 and came back with antibiotics. She did not get any better really she got worse. She let me take her to the ER last night. We found out she had a heart attack Saturday night. The doctors say she is lucky. She is feeling much better. They are going to do an angiogram tomorrow followed by a possible angioplasty. She had a bypass four years ago, but her health has improved so much. I just didn't see this coming. Please pray that everything goes well with the test. There is a risk just in having it done. And that she will recover quickly and be back home soon. Thanks
